Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate and empowering approach to therapy that helps you understand the different “parts” of yourself—like the inner critic, the people-pleaser, or the anxious child. These parts often develop to protect you, especially in response to past pain or stress. In IFS, we work together to gently explore these parts and help them feel less burdened, so you can connect more fully with your calm, confident core Self. Many people find IFS especially helpful for navigating inner conflict, healing from distressing past experiences, and building self-trust.
Brainspotting is a gentle, focused therapy approach that helps you process and release deep emotional or physical pain that may be stuck in the body. During a session, we use your eye position to find “brainspots”—specific spots in your visual field that connect to where distress is held in the brain. With mindful attention and support, this technique allows your brain and body to access and heal experiences that may be hard to reach through talk therapy alone. Many people find brainspotting helpful for issues like anxiety, trauma, or stress that feel “stuck” despite other efforts.

I have a deep appreciation for the unique challenges that come with working in healthcare and mental health. Whether you’re a therapist, physician, nurse, or other helping professional, you’re often holding space for others while navigating high expectations, limited time, and the emotional toll of caregiving. It’s a role that can be incredibly meaningful—and also deeply exhausting.
I offer a space where you don’t have to be the one holding it all together. Therapy with me is a chance to step out of your professional role and tend to your own inner world with curiosity and care. I understand the unspoken pressures of the field, the isolation and the complex mix of empathy, burnout, and responsibility you may carry. Together, we can work to untangle what’s weighing you down and reconnect with your own clarity and well-being.

It is common for adults to feel stuck in an exhausting cycle of food worries, body shame, and the pressure to “fix” themselves by changing their body. If you’ve spent years trying diets, managing how you eat, or battling critical thoughts about your body, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to keep doing it alone, either. These struggles often run deeper than just food or appearance; they’re connected to stress, past experiences, and the messages we’ve absorbed about worth, control, and health.
My approach to addressing food and body concerns is compassionate and non-judgmental. I help clients explore their relationship with food and body in a way that moves beyond rules and restriction, and toward understanding, trust, and self-respect. Whether you’ve experienced chronic dieting, or just a constant sense of body dissatisfaction, our work together can support more freedom, peace, and connection with yourself.
I’m Kara and I’m so glad you are here taking the first step toward lasting change.
You are worthy of compassion and healing, and I'm here to provide a safe space for your transformation.
With over 18 years of clinical experience, I bring both depth and practicality to therapy. I’m Level 2 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Phase 1 trained in Brainspotting. I work best with clients who are insightful, motivated, and open to deeper self-exploration. Together, we’ll uncover what’s keeping you stuck and help you move forward with clarity and compassion.
You show up for other people but feel disconnected from yourself or your values. Together, we will find a path to recenter on the things that matter most to you.
You are likely to connect well with me if you are experiencing:
Professional burnout and emotional exhaustion
Anxiety, overthinking, and chronic self-doubt
Food and body image concerns
Life transitions, grief, or identity changes
Internal conflict or harsh self-criticism
Let’s get in touch with the parts of you that often get pushed aside for others but long to be seen and heard.
